Note: I am currently not taking new referrals.
Welcome. You have reached this web page because you are searching for something. You may be seeking help with a particular issue, such as bereavement or another loss. Perhaps the coping strategies you have used before seem to have stopped working, or your usual support networks have failed.
‘Talking treatments’ for emotional and psychological difficulties come in many forms. No two people follow the same path into therapy, and no two therapists are the same. My approach is Jungian, based on the belief that psychological growth is a lifelong process.
Sometimes that natural process is blocked by past experiences or present circumstances, from significant trauma to the milestones of life: birth, loss, marriage, parenthood, divorce. We can find ourselves swamped by unbidden thoughts, powerful feelings or memories. Or stuck in mid-life with no idea where to go from here. I will endeavour to work with you in the way that best meets your needs, to help you work through difficult feelings or to make deep changes in your self.
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, there are some questions you might want to ask your therapist. They might include the following:
What is your experience?
I began counselling in the voluntary and private sector and also have experience working as a psychotherapist in the NHS. I have worked with people suffering from depression, anxiety, bereavement and loss, relationship and family difficulties, eating disorders, low self-esteem and self-harm. I completed my analytical Jungian training with the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy.
Who regulates you?
I work under the code of practice and ethics of the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy, which is my training institute. I am a registered and accredited member of both UKCP and BPC. I will respect your confidentiality and keep a safe boundary around our work together. You are welcome whatever your race, faith, gender, age or sexual orientation.
How much will you charge?
I charge £68 for an initial consultation. Sometimes it is helpful to meet more than once, in order to have time to reflect, before deciding whether to embark on therapy. At this point we will also agree the ongoing cost, timing and frequency of sessions. My fee is £68 for once weekly therapy. Lower cost sessions may be available if you are on a low income or for more frequent work. I offer some early morning and evening sessions for those in full time work.
Where do you work?
I work in the centre of Leamington Spa; approximately 15-minutes walk from the station and 5 minutes from the main bus stops on the Parade. There are three steps up to my front door, so if you have any problems with mobility, please let me know in advance.
If you have other questions, or would like to arrange a meeting, please call 07939 127433 or use the contact form. I don’t check this site every day, so posting a comment is not the most reliable way to contact me.
Finally, whether or not I am the right therapist for you, I wish you well on your journey.
